Brighten the Corner Where You Are

The week we were painting the outside of my building, a neighbor commented that she thinks of the old hymn “Brighten the corner where you are” every time she drives by.  I hadn’t ever heard this one so I immediately listened and I couldn’t stop crying happy tears.  If there was ever a song that captured everything I’m trying to do, This is it.

I am on a mission to spread happiness.  I am in a small town in the middle of North Carolina, but I am dedicated to brightening my corner.  I have a growing community of friends online and I am determined to brighten that little corner of the internet.  I want the walls inside our home to feel like the brightest, happiest little corner of the world when Chris and Vance come home.  Wherever God has placed you or whoever he has placed you in front of, I pray that you will chose to brighten the corner where you are.  You don’t have to wait on big “deeds of greatness” as the song says, just look for small ways you can help shine the light of Jesus, right where you are.  You don’t have to look far for people who may not know God, and you can point people to him even if you never say His name through the way you live your life.  By the way you use your gifts, by the way you let him share your talents with others, by the way you treat people and pour out God’s love to everyone around you.  It all starts with you and your choice to make a difference.

I plan on commemorating this sweet mission by adding a mural to the corner of the new ASWN Studio!  We've also added a matching sticker to the shop.  How can you brighten the corner where you are today?
